Shaking The Dust Off Your Sandals
Shaking
The Dust Off Your Sandals
Acts 13:50 “But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women,
and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and
Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.51 But
they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto
Iconium.”
Titus 3:10 “A man that is an heretick (causes division) after the first and second
admonition reject;”
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners.34 Awake to righteousness, and sin
not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”
Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.”
Genesis 15:22 “And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine
hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,23 That
I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take
any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:”
Yah, Abraham would have a no-contact order
against the King of Sodom to protect his wife Sarah. That king was creepy. Jesus told His disciples, when He sent out
the seventy-two, to take ‘em or leave ‘em.
Impart peace where peace was found or hit the highway. Paul says to play hard ball with members of
the church if they continued to cause divisions after two warnings. Somewhere in Proverbs it has to be written to
stay away from perverse people.
Oh!
But God is love! But He ain’t a
door mat. Yes, God will be used and even
mistreated, but habitual misconduct He will not tolerate. God is a good confronter. He surely is full of mercy and grace, but you
must want it. He takes pity on the ignorant
but upon those who know better, He sorta leans on.
Aren’t we supposed to be a light to the
world? Paul spread his light. He had a habit of stopping in at the local synagogue
and seeing if they wanted to play. If not,
he took his show on the road. God at one
time told him to forget the people in Asia.
He had other plans for him.
God gives us time and resources. He expects us to utilize both. I recently heard a motivational speaker talk about
maximizing returns. Or, in this case,
making the most impact for the Kingdom of God.
There are some worthless people out there who love to grind up
pearls. They so wallow in the muck and
want you to be sucked in with them. Then
there are others who waste my time pretending they are interested. Some are so wishy-washy and maybe-so that a
hard answer evades them. These people
aren’t worth the time of day. To warn,
yes.
I look at the susceptibility of a child’s
faith compared to a hard-headed mocker.
Which will I spend more time with?
Jesus said let the little children come unto Him for a reason. With them He had a contact order.
