So What?
So
What?
So what?
I mean, big deal! Who cares? I care, but really. A spoiler?
No. He was/ is God. What did we expect?
Can’t kill God? We did.
Put Him through the ringer and squeezed His life blood out of Him, but
big deal, He came back to life. Well, He’s
God. Thought He had that kind of power.
Did not He have the will to take up His
life Himself? Others, that I know of,
relied upon another’s action to raise them up.
Prophets of old brought them back.
Paul did one I think. Poor guy
fell out the window. Then Paul was Johnie-on-the-Spot. Up they thrust from the tombs when Jesus came
back from the lower parts of the earth.
All these relied upon another’s action of prayer and such. The power was linked to another. But not Jesus.
The Lone Ranger. This One had no Tonto. Not even a horse named Silver of whom could
rescue Him in tight times. By His own
volition, He raised Himself up from a grave and I think that speaks volumes.
Did not He say that in three days He would
raise up the Temple again? They were
confused but Jesus knew the end was not the end. A slight blip on the graph of His life. A moment of incongruity where it was not
defined. Can’t divide by zero. A big hole that lacked understanding which
only the Master Mathematician could work.
Jesus at the chalk board gave all the clues. The wondering class looked on as some scoffed
in back and threw paper airplanes at Him.
The Teacher gave the class run.
The board told the story as His Son worked the incredible problem. When the bell rang, most rose in anger to see
God’s check. The Man had done it right. The class had failed.
Jesus brought Himself back to life. Yes, He was not suffered to see
corruption. We could say His Father did
it, but scripture leads us otherwise.
The Man with power to heal, healed Himself. Yes, He put all His eggs in one basket in
trusting in a just God, the maker of divine spiritual laws which judge every
man. He knew the enemy came and had
nothing on Him. So, even His accuser
would be stripped of his lips.
Jesus as God, did the work of God. In mystery, but in my confidence, Jesus did what no other man could do. He raised Himself. That comes as no surprise. So what?
