Let Bygones Be Bygones

Philippians 3;13 ‘Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.’

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

     Wow!  Now that’s a laundry list.  If we are true with ourselves, we stand disqualified to enter into a great Kingdom.  But let’s investigate the matter more deeply.

     What is important is to note the word habit.  What is the rut?  What is this person known for?  Is his malicious conduct so great to be typified by any one of these?  In other words, is the man consumed?

      Sanctification is a great word.  It means Someone is routing for you.  He is in your corner, coaching as you throw punches.  Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Sometimes that means shadow boxing is the way to pound your own body into submission making it mind.

     The flesh is yucky thing.  Being crucified with Christ, it is surely dead being condemned and buried with Him.  We are raised to the newness of Life, not obligated any longer to live as the old.  He has given us Power within to walk a new Way knowing the Father who draws us closer each day we choose.

    This list is an extreme.  It is good to glance over it once in a while to see if we are secretly caught.  Like not seeing our own back, does Satan have anything on us?  Does he have a foothold slowing us down?  If we still ourselves before the Lord, He will show us.  He is faithful and just to forgives us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  Then we can run free into day.

She Doesn’t Tell You That You Are Loser Grace:  The incredible pink cushion between your screwed up decisions and the ramifications wrought by them. Mercy:  withholds the rod.  Grace says, “Now what?  Given you’ve gotten yourself into a marijuana muddied bowl of slime, would you like a hand up?”  She gets her hands dirty. “That’s ok, its just something I have to work through.”  And she does.  Her incredible prayer power burns a hole through overhanging clouds of gloom.
