For Who So Ever

For Who So Ever

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

John3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Matthew 23:15” Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.”

This is a stupid argument.  In saying this, I invalidate my position.  Now being seen as someone narrow minded, my reasoning is thrown out the window.  Still, this is stupid.

Did Jesus die for everyone?  Does a bear poop in the woods?  What more sophisticated logic do I have to use?  How about, “Is Jesus’ blood powerful enough to cover everyone’s sins if they repented?”  Next would be the question, “Is your God big enough to create the earth in six days?”

Want to follow the twisting road of philosophers and theologians using big words to encapsulate their complex views?  Oh, I am of this teacher.  I currently sit under so and so.  Well, so and so died five hundred years ago.  Why not sit under the Teacher who never will die again?

How much jargon do we need to throw at a new believer?  Kinda like joining the Masons.  The secret knowledge gets deeper the further into the forest you walk.  Those steeped in head knowledge seek out those wanting a closer relationship with God and throw hurdles at them for we all know there is a correct way to think about Him.  God forbid that they take a new trail of understanding.

The warning is this:  Woe to him who complicates the gospel!  It would be better if a millstone were hung about his neck and tossed in the ocean.  The gospel was written to children because we all are children.
