When He Comes

When He Comes

John 16:And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:Of sin, because they believe not on me;10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Reprove: reprimand, rebuke, to criticize sharply or to prove again.

To the unregenerate He will come, “Why do you not believe My Son?  Do you know your sin?  Sin as I have called is disagreement with Me.  I have shown you His reality.  In creation His power is seen.  When I spoke, He went from Me and accomplished the work I sent Him to do.  Does My Spirit have to prove this to you again?”

This is the sin of their world:

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

According to these verses, deliberate forgetfulness drove Mankind into the ditch.  Unbelief was the bastard child when vain imaginations mated. This was the third generational step away from God resulting in foolish hearts which declared, “There is no God.”

And this is the conviction of the Christ:

Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Finally, this is the judgement of their lesser god:

John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

As their infarctions are many, the Holy Spirit comes as a skilled surgeon.  Blockages in reasoning are no match for His gentle knife.  He does not deride in blatant discreditation unless their pride warrants.
