Rock Of Ages, Cleft For Me

Daniel 2:44 “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake

in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold;”

     As a meteor descending from the heavens, He did not burn up on entry.  Krypton knew His name.  Weakening superman, the man Jesus took down the Roman Empire.  Nero burned his own bed, and Constantine bowed his head to the cross.  Up from the catacombs, zombies did the dance having died once yet now living.

    He came as Equalizer, loaded gun in His hand.  He said His words would never fail.  Once out of His mouth, they were commissioned to bring change so ordained by God.

Luke 2:34 “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;”

    Rock in the water of time rippled out to the edges.

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

     Jesus is the Great Commander of social change.  What is set upright He upends when the poor bear the brunt of the rich.  Cruel slavery must loose its reign when He comes to cut the leather.  Honest Abe got a hole in his head as his blood mingled with freedom’s fight.  Jesus knows martyrs and keeps the scroll by His side.

Revelations 6:9 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and

avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

     There’s more killing to do.  Jesus said they stand as targets in the carnival of life. Happily taking fire spinning down to their death.  Grinding out their blood, He uses the serum as ammunition forcing the foe into his corner where he will be contained by bars.  God’s law will not be overturned by demons on the Hill.  Roe V. Wade will turn her head in shame as those who reap will get what they sow.

     This writing is dedicated to one who let their blood on the world’s stage.  A certain waxing of the floor preparing a suitable platform for which the Lord to dance upon His enemies.  He will remember your names.  Afterall, He knew where He came from, and He knows where you are going.  Salute you!  Brothers and sisters!

Infectious Disease

  Infectious Disease      I watch network T.V., the free kind over the airwaves.   It is inundated with self-help medicine commercials.   I think of Sky-ri-zee .   Perhaps this is the concoction for clearer skin.   What wouldn’t an Aaronic priest have given for this special med?   “Got a blemish?   Come closer, son.   Looks like the onset of leprosy.   Go away.   Two pills in the mouth and come back in seven.”   Much of Leviticus would have to be rewritten.   The red heifer sacrifice could be summed up with a cream.   “Touched a dead body?   Rub this on the contact area.   Go away.   Come back tomorrow.”      But what if pills don’t work?   Adam would have O.D.’d on the blue and reds seeking to forget the fall. God's Successive Revelations

  God’s Successive Revelations Search Me diligently, and I will reveal Myself to you.      Yah, that sound like something God would say.   I understand He revealed the Trinity to us.   I plead ignorance in Church history.   Some theologians, perhaps 400 A.D. came upon this gem that we hold true today.   The idea of the rapture is new on the Church radar.   Late 1800’s?      What if God revealed His truth to His people in time?   Surely, Solomon was the wisest man in his day, but did he know about Pentecost?   Daniel, the far seer, was only shown glimpses.   What did he know of Peter and miracles in the temple?   A certain king discovered God’s truth again and that made for a reformation, but what did he know of the beast standing in the sea?   God gives insight in His time.      I have trained seven children.   As young  children, I did not flood them with...
