I Will Guide you with My Eye

I Will Guide You with My Eye

Psalm 32                                                                                                                     April 1, 2024

I am not the fool.  I have tested this.  What David knew as he wrote and prophesied, our Lord clearly comes through with understanding.  He desires to lead His little ones with a look, even a slight glance.

How many of us have had parents or grandparents we have known so well?  We could discern the expression on their face, the holding of their eyes to mean approval or disapproval. And how many of us have seen the joy or sadness when our actions affected them?  It is such a close thing when we know our hurts or comforts in them by the slight expression of their eyes.

“Couldn’t you tell Grandpa was hurt?  No, he didn’t yell or have to cry, his gazing eyes told the story.”  “Grandma was filled with bubbles!  Her face lit up as she saw again the grandkids on her iphone.”

We didn’t have to hear.  No great body language to signal us.  We so knew them that we read their souls through windows.

Can we today have this?  Can we be so sensitive to our Lord’s feelings that He guides us by a simple look of His eyes?

I testify of this.  It is not of my great doing.  God simply communicates with me this way.  I continually ask Him for His counsel, even in the smallest things.  With cognizance I am aware of His being within me.  That is what His scripture says.  His Spirit now is within me as I have elected Him as my savior and Lord.  He has filled me.  So, there is literally another being living inside of me.

My pastor can attest to this.  It is the truth he has been preaching for so long now.  We indeed are new creations.  We have been rebooted with a new operating system called “Life.”

So what does it mean to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit?  He indeed is a person.  He has a job to do.  I voluntarily asked Him to inhabit my body.  Another spirit in addition to mine.  He has overlaid His presence upon mine.  Together we work to animate this carbon character I call my physical presence, my temporary living facility, this vessel which confines me in this X,Y,Z dimensioned world.  Thank God we are spirits locked in to physical flesh.  The police would have a nightmare chasing wanted felons who refused to keep permanent habitations.  Call Ghost Busters!

This is not a weird thing.  On the contrary, it is very Biblical.  He has created us as spiritual beings who are sensitive to Him and to each other.  I sense my wife’s presence even without sound.  So how much more do I feel God within me?

When I say He guides me by His eye, I sense His look as I ask Him moment by moment for direction.  I am a man in my position of responsibility and authority who must make quality decision quickly, in real time.  I NEED HELP!  And He comes to me in this way.

In the days of Seth, men began to call upon the Lord.  I have called, and He has answered.
