Our Assurance
Our
Assurance
Ephesians 1:5 “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus
Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”
Romans 8:38 “For I am persuaded,
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come,39 Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption.”
Perhaps these are well known verses. Still it is beneficial to digest them
again. A little milk with our meat is
called for. In all our striving to become
more like Him, we fail to hit the mark sometimes. Discouragement lies behind us then confronts
us head on when we fall short of the standard.
The enemy is sly. The world wants
to peck on the weaker. Even the church
is there to kick a brother when they are down.
Fix it up! Know for sure. Get those foundation blocks down firm without
flaw. Have you had a God encounter or
not? The scripture says to verify your
election. More than a feeling. What does God say about your condition to
Him? Search the scripture and take home
the promises. Get advice. Get insight.
The above verses only encourage a more thorough understanding.
Are you a child of
God or not? Yes, you may have said the “I
love You prayer”, but did it sink home?
Usually The Meeting results in a change of course. A gentle nudging toward water baptism is a
good sign that something happened in the heart.
A sense of holiness is now as one seeks to put away the bad and seek the
new. A drawn attraction is evident as
one wants to be with the family of God.
Resistance and rebellion quelled, the child enjoys the sought after peace.
Is this you? If so, no matter if you blow it, God is still
with you. He does not abandon the one He
has adopted. Our Father is in for the
long haul. How great is His long
suffering with us!
Proverbs 24:16 “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but
the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
God gives second
chances. He does not laugh in your face.
He continually encourages us to press on to the goal of knowing Him
better. Situations change but God never does. He is our assurance.
