Doin' It Right
Doin’
It Right
John 2:1 “And
the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus
was there:2 And both Jesus was called, and his
disciples, to the marriage.3 And when they
wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.”
John 2:11 “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of
Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”
Ephesians
5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;26 That
he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,27 That
he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle,
or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
Leviticus
20:13 “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a
woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to
death; their blood shall be upon them.”
I didn’t make the
rules. You can’t hold this one against
me. I have seen the perversion this
twisting beholds as I rode in a car one day.
He said, “Did you
drink from that cup?” I said, “Yes.” His body was feverish as his hands were upon the
wheel. A gentle man he could be but now
found him pounding a frustrated rhythm on his expensive organ. The man John Helgerson had turned into a sort
of Jekyll Hide. He was scary to be
around. I spent but a few days at his
home farm while his days drew to a close.
See, John Helgerson had contracted AIDS.
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
He had a proud lifestyle of rebellion, flirting with order. He seemed a child wrapped in a boyish
smirk. Maybe the stick never got close
to his behind. Maybe he was just left to
go his way.
The rod of God
will surely drive the foolishness out of the heart of a child. Homosexuality they say is a disease and so it
is. Maybe if a child grows without
boundaries, his sexual tendencies stray also.
Flesh is flesh. This is but one ailment
one suffers. When the monster welds its
head, the swell must be quenched. Not
the case with John Helgerson. He died in
diapers.
Hope Lynam (once
Cvrk) did it right. She brought the
families together in a most noble time.
Many pictures document the event in a garden of flowers in Sioux City,
Iowa. Her marriage to Elijah Lynam,
officiated by Dale Lynam, her father-in-law, was grand. Dale, who wed the two, drew up many
scriptures citing the healthy understanding of marriage and what it was under
God. I praised him at the end saying, “You
truly are anointed!” Chosen by God to declare
His truth, Dale did not hold back.
It is God who
invented marriage. We are the ones who
have the opportunity to corrupt it. It
is an abomination, a grievous evil, to pollute the image He set in store for
our health. Man not with man. Woman not with woman. Perverted sin reaps a twisting of souls that
we cannot fully understand. If you want
to screw up a child, tell them he is a product of two dad’s or two wombs have
birthed by ignorance.
My soapbox? No, I only approve of what God approves
of. I feel for the ones who can only
find comfort in their one sex. Intimacy
in vulnerability as one lays down their guard for another to enter in. Sexual abuse knows no bounds. Scars in the past ripple to present. Women with women only trusting the ones who
will not hurt. So, I understand this
little. Our Lord’s compassion does not stop with the gay label. On the contrary, He smiles upon the one
reaching for help.
Prison is
prison. Gnashing of teeth is felt when
one betrays the inner bent. We are all
conceived with a gender spirit. Some fall
to either ends of the spectrum, but alas we are tied in mystery to the gender
He has birthed us.
What makes a man a
man and a woman a woman? Tendencies.
There is a lot more
to be said with this issue. Sexual
identity lies at the core of our being.
How we perceive ourselves matters.
It is God who perceives us rightly.
