Don't Think
Don’t
Think
Mark 5:5 “And always, night and day, he was
in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.”
I don’t think my local Walgreens is
controlled by a demon. The gals there
are too nice. Venom doesn’t spur across
the counter when they ask if I have found everything. In fact, Sioux City has been very good to me and
my wife. We have eaten out many times in these past twenty-four years without
food poisoning. Taking that for granted
could be dangerous in other countries where hot food doesn’t keep hot but warm,
with bacteria above my tolerance. Oh
wait, there was that once. I think a questionable
pizza took the house down, but I don’t remember which establishment it came from.
I do say demon controlled because management
can pressure its employees to the bottom line.
Stress hits and customer focus is out the window as productivity ramps
down to stalemate. Angered, the
employees rebel against authority and rip off the business all in the name of “they
owe me!”
Such the downward cycle when managers
sacrifice to the Time and Money gods. Mammon
has a way of ruining the healthy coworker relationships. No longer is it a blessing to work as God
intended. Now the burden wears on as
workers eye the clock for escape.
So, thanks Lord. In my view, Sioux City keeps its code. The one that protects my health.
