High Power About My Neighborhood

High Power About My Neighborhood

1 Timothy 2:2 Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence.

He doesn’t wield the sword for no reason.  “In the night,” she said.  Men with guns, woman running, and sounds.  High power.

My dad had a high power.  It was a ‘thirty ought six.’  A rifle of most desire.  It had killed many and defended a few which stepped out of a boat into enemy waters.  She let the world know the blood of Americans came with cost.  This one had seen the action, just in honoring.

Twenty-one-gun salute!  The Legion may have clogged up the barrel shooting blanks but the action was fair. When the barrel was raised to the skies, it commanded everyone’s attention.  War is loud but it ain’t just a man’s game.

High power about my neighborhood.  Policemen, Not Cops!, drew their weapons last night.  Beyond my white walls ran the vermin of Sioux City again in threat to our peaceful neighborhood.  Falsely accused?  Probably not.  We are talking of a small midwestern town on the intersection of three states with river convergence.   They try hard in vigilance putting their blood on the line at nights ensuring my quiet sleep. So Sioux City, “Thank you!”

We are to pray.  All authority on earth comes down out of heaven.  Hard to understand?  Every position of power over men as ordained by God is meant for the organization of men into peace loving units blessing communities and families living under the protection of its shell.  Great umbrellas covering the masses from hell’s torments.  He knows what runs down here.

Since Adam, the wild dogs were loosed.  Incredible bared teeth with vociferous bark intimidating with good need.  Demons are none to contend with on an earthly power.  God gave them the dark to cloak their gown that we may draw away in pure fear.

So who will stand up to these things which pervert the judgement of Man so given to their ways like a south poled magnet attracted to its own destruction?

The Man Jesus Christ!

Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

For now, evil is here.  He prowls about our young looking to swipe with talons on end.  About lies ones unsuspecting.  Ignorant fools, so to say, who by vicarious stance fall into the good protection of melds with the providential hands of a God who cares even for those running away.

So I thank you, Sir.  You indeed are the The High Power.  All hail King Jesus!
