Shepherd’s
Blend
“Like
the prodigalI'm lost in the feeling
that I ain't from this world
The Going Back to Eden
Ain't gonna be easy
But it leads me straight to you
Now I'm running home
Like the Prodigal”
Lyrics:

Ephesians
2:14 “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and
hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”

Ephesians 2
Sheep and goats? No.
The idea here is more along Jacob’s line. “by
whose stripes ye were healed.” His
payment from Laban was the speckled and spotted livestock. Didn’t care what they looked like. A sheepy was a sheepy. Good wool.
Good meat. 1 Peter says we are
drawn near 1 Peter 2:25 “For ye were as sheep going astray; but
are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” Feed My sheep, Peter. Feed My sheep.
Synthesis? God in times past brought from the stock of
Israel pure white lambs to say. Their
wool be undefiled in His eyes. As far as
the eye could see over His flock. True
natives. True indigenous peoples, earthy
and called.
Now He
has blended in the misfits, the outcasts. Those of us who coats are in
shame. Speckled, spotted. A quagmire only He could figure out. And He fixed.
By the
cross, He has reconciled the two together.
Now there is neither Jew nor Greek, rich or poor, in or out. He has brought all together to one in Him
just as He is one with the Father.
Jesus
is into oneness. He wants togetherness.
Closeness. A prodigal son out to the
limits makes no sense to Him. He calls
over the hedgerows hoping to bring in the lost to His great marriage
supper. The King must be served by many
a subjects. By sheer number, He is
glorified.
Revelation 7:14 “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he
said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed
their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
Though speckled and spotted, we are all made
white in the end. Ephesians 2:12 “That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of
Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and
without God in the world:”
But
now! He has made two things one in
Him. We fight no longer if we find true
peace in Him. He has given us the
opportunity. Let us partake.
