All The Comforts Of Home

All The Comforts Of Home

Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Do I think Jesus had it that hard?  No, not really.  He was surrounded by His people.  He simply responded to a man who wanted to follow.  To seek our Lord, we must be willing to leave all others in the dust.  Mother and father?  Sister and brother?  Wife or husband?  That’s where Jesus draws the line.  We have covenanted with our significant other.  In that promise, He does not call away.  Now, if the other is nonrenewed, having never met Jesus and turns to go away, we are not bound to them.  To divorce them is not a sin, we may marry another and it is not adultery.

What God has joined together, let not man separate.  That includes the ones that are married.  But, what is a marriage?  Hasn’t God reserved this special bonding for the believing?  He said the two shall become one.  Oil and water do not mix.  Believer with nonbeliever shall not be yoked together.  In other words, true marriage is not known except amongst those committed to Him.  Like must beget like.  God desires Godly offspring.  He cannot achieve this without a Godly union of mother to father.

Sound harsh?  God has His rules.  Light has no fellowship with darkness.  Those illuminated shall not search intimate company with those hearts hard against our Lord.  Be careful who you sleep with.  Premarital sex is known as destructive in the kingdom.  It damages the soul, ripping and bleeding apart if the two be separated.  In addition, such acts when repeated dullen the senses to true intimacy.  When finally found in the confidant of a true marriage, the baggage of post relationships must be opened even by professional counselors.  God has made us complexly.  There is a way to run straightly down the track.

To keep ones’ virgin is hallowed.  It is a great present to give the one so found on your wedding night.  In keeping this, such avert the games of lust many play.  A virgin’s mind is not polluted with the known mysteries of the inordinate sexual encounter.  It rejoices in purity when the union is consummated.  The bond is kept in holiness and nothing is thought badly about the choice the two have made.  This is the revered “marriage act” so keep for those that love Him.

Did Jesus know the comforts of home?  If home is where His soul was kept with another, then no.  Sadly, our Savior never knew another this way.  He kept His virgin and dedicated Himself fully to seeking His God.  He was not distracted although fully tempted as we.  Did He know lust?  He knew the sin but never followed down that way.  Wisdom kept His feet on the right path.

Maybe I should clarify myself.  Do I think Jesus had it hard?  Most certainly!  For He has written:

Ecclesiastes 4:Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Where did Jesus take His private talk?  In His bed, He slept alone.  Not knowing the full affection of a woman, only those who wanted to get too close.  He was bounded by law not to touch a woman that way, so He refrained Himself.  Did He enjoy all the comforts of home?  I don’t believe so.
