Mission Possible 2
Mission Possible 2
John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the
Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you.”
Luke 24:49 “And, behold, I send the promise
of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be
endued with power from on high.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.”
We really have no excuse. The divine command He gave, “Be fruitful,
multiply, fill the earth and subdue it.”
The great calling of Man in his role in creation.
We see us making dams and forging roads
into a rough wilderness. Our towers
pierce virgin skies and the sun sets through them. We guide electrons to do our bidding as they
follow mazes in our phones. Scientific
discoveries uncover earth’s mysteries, and we harness its laws to work to our
likings. Technology reigns today when we
build terabyte databases from which to draw facts and support theoretical conclusions.
But let’s go back to step one. He says be fruitful.
John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear
much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
The
fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace… etc.
What has God to do with Man if he does not excel in his first primal
call? The Tower of Babel stood as a great
testament of Man’s endeavors without divine guidance. In other words, we can conquer this bloody planet
by waging war in bringing its forces under our feet, but if we have not Godliness
our fronts fail.
What has God do to with a man whose works
burn?
Luke 12:18 “And he said, This will I do: I
will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my
fruits and my goods.”
Even Ecclesiastes declares all is
vanity. He determines what is right for
a man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of
the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole
duty of man.”
The Teacher also says for man to eat,
drink and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Labor is sweet. Our achievements
can rest on the mantle as trophies. We
can dine in the glory thereof but if we have not the first, they tarnish and
rust.
Mission possible. The Helper comes to guide us into all truth
which determines the placement of our hands.
Under His direction, we can master physical laws and bring matter into
subjection to us. Without Him, we tinker
in His lab concocting dangerous outcomes which challenge ethical
standards. When we proclaim ourselves to
be God, science knows no bounds but pushes us to moral dilemmas where we have
no footing.
So we see it is first essential to bear
much fruit. All ends of Man will follow
the lead.
