And To This End
And To This End
Ephesians 6:18 “praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” (NKJV)
“Having done all, to stand.”
Boulder in the
current. The brunt of pressure upon the
face yet the object be unmoved. The littles
ones swim freely in the obstructed flow.
They dance and learn their manners of survival needed before they face the
opposing stream themselves. Fry just hatched
need stillness lest they bruise. A dam
locked in solidarity spans the rush of the immediate giving them time to develop
their legs as tadpoles lose their tails.
Church! An umbrella you offer. Safety is known within your gates keeping the
enemy from the keep. Are the watchers on
the tower? Who bears the trumpets
scanning the horizon for foreigner or friend?
Does mold grow at the base? Has
the enemy slowly crept in in subversion?
Does not the Lord
hold the candlestick lifting up the commissioning He has called us to? In other words, unless we be about His
business He threatens to disband what He has organized. Why else would He appoint overseers even
deacons to their specific jobs? In safety
He calls His little ones to the fold, but we are responsible for stone upon
stone. Wolves creep outside. Fornicating spirits with smooth tongues hide
piercing teeth ready for young soul’s rich blood of virginity. Serpents think they can tunnel under and lift
their heads in temptation.
Feel the ferocity
of the Head Shepherd. In vengeance He wields
His staff. The blood of the enemy is upon
the pole and under His feet. If He
curses the darkness and lights a torch in the midst of Her, shall we not agree
with Him in windows streaming truth about the countryside? Our stained glass leaded together faithfully
pictures to others the incredible love of Christ.
The Church in
stone stands for a refuge. She enjoys
the Triumvirate. His power over Her
shall not be overthrown. Hell’s gate wanders
the way, but it bows at Her bridge for She discriminates who enters.
Today if you have
been called to protect, hide them under your wing. He has called those mature to withstand the
schemes of the devil and shelter those who don’t understand. Young in the faith can suffer bruises to
stunt if we do not step in.
Undercover the lies. Dig up the serpents and burn the tall grass
they slither through. Satan comes to the
school of the innocents wanting them to swallow poison at a young age. Deep set under layers of good doctrine still
requires surgery in the end. Therapy is
expensive.
Wear the armor. Pray for the saints. Intercede for the blind. Yell loudly to those whose sins have calloused
their ears. Warn for the Judge awaits. The fear of God is a great antidote for mischievous
spirits taunting authority to temptation’s edge.
Genesis
20:11 “And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of
God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.”
God has so placed
us as resistance in this headstrong world.
We bear the cross and so are identified as such. We are a peculiar people. We don’t go with the flow. White water rapids voice their threats
vehemently. However, we will not be
moved. What we protect in still waters
behind reminds us that Jesus calls the children to His side.
