The Great Election
The Great Election
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be
conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many
brethren.30 Moreover
whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also
justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
God’s election or His choosing must have
this backdrop. Unless God had a plan for
preparation, His election would make no sense.
In Romans, Paul is saying the gate is flung wide open. God is turning the chapter of the book. He has appointed a time to declare men
righteous by faith in Christ. Whether Jew
or Gentile, it makes no difference. His justification
is to those who place their faith in the standard.
Romans 8:33 “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is
God that justifieth.”
God is basing His election upon our
acceptance or rejection of Christ. In
these last days, He has raised up a Divider.
More than a final judge, Christ stands now to freely declare those right
before His holy God.
Rather than get caught up in the mud of
Jewish proselytizing, new believers can put their understanding towards the
teachings of Christ in His revelation of the Father. In this cut and run approach, the law’s
requirements are left behind as the crux is addressed. Adherence to this fresh exposure which He gave
in ministry brings faith to the forefront.
No longer are works according to the law celebrated. In this, Christ opens the door to all who all
place their faith in Him as savior recognizing He is truly the Messiah.
Praise God! We live in a time when faith is
pronounced. Surely, faith has always been
required since Adam. But in these last
days, He defines and draws us to a concluding point.
What have we to do with Jesus?
We only get one ballot. He has made it simple. Filling in the little oval gets us in. However, in that time, our Father watches
over our shoulder. He knows who are
His. Faith in Christ surely wins the
election. But just as the stateman enters into
obligations, God introduces us to our new responsibilities.
Ephesians 5:1 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear
children;”
God has made the preparations that all
flesh may step in and walk accordingly. By applying Christ in faith, we grow more to be like Him. Believing the promises of God and banking on
them requires us to use spiritual eyes.
We receive the future guaranteed and so conduct our ourselves. Our election is sure as God’s acceptance rests upon us.
