May He Be On Our Lips
May He Be On Our Lips
Joshua 4:21 “And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When
your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean
these stones?22 Then
ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry
land.”
My son made a viable request lately. “Hey, can we get it down in writing?” A record he desires to share with his daughters. God’s faithfulness has long been experienced
by our primary family. I journalled and
caught some occurrences by the pen, but those books have disappeared. What we have still is the enlightening of the
Holy Ghost.
While it still is called today, let us
rehearse His goodness. In other words,
when Thanksgiving or Christmas give us time to get together let us front load
our conversations. Like staging cargo to
be released in time, we can bundle memories.
But why look in the rearview mirror when
today’s drive directs our eyes somewhere off the road and to the scenery? We who are advanced are challenged to say, “Hey!
Look at the hay!” A popular joke my
family had when Mom cut our bickering or boredom on long trips.
“What are these stones for?” Sometimes the little ones don’t ask. They are on cruise control assuming it’s
always been this way. Interjection and
punctuation in the sentences of life are needed to stop the run on thoughts.
He commands us. “Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth
speaks.” Do you want them to pick up the
baton? Then apply the ketchup and
mustard in spicing up the common discussion.
“Praise the Lord! Thank God!”
These phrases are handy. We are to open
family windows to fresh air letting
little ones know how we interact with the outside. The world spins about us but we provide
interpretation. Seeing God and spying
His working takes personal training, but we must discipline ourselves if we are
to complete His command.
Pass it on.
