We Partner With God
We Partner With God
Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the
rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow,
considering the end of their conversation.
Whoa!
They look up to us? Not upon a
pedestal, they simply move amongst the herd glancing up to see the lead
occasionally. So do we surround them
with masks hiding our tusks pretending to be others? We are known by our appendages so it is about
time to show them we live without embarrassment. Wisdom He has entrusted to elders. Patterned by success, the little ones are to
gaze upon and wonder.
Time to figure out the walk. They march as we lead. In sync, troops move the boots while cadence
is called. Hearing the beat of another
drummer? Well, that one seeks to come
into the sheepfold to kill, still, and destroy.
As a wolf with bloodied teeth.
His fur rank with pungent ointment shrilling the nostrils in
violation. About him poses a dinner
waiting to be had. Slithering
serpent? The descriptions go on to mark
and warn of destruction waiting in the weeds.
We see the inferenced calling. Armed guards about the souls of little ones
surrounded in protection. The keep we
hold and reinforce the doors. A
battlement angled to meet an opponent’s charge.
We fight.
With distractions abated, they are free to
contemplate our reasonings. As if to
clear the air of buzzing mosquitoes, blood sucking things we ward off and spend
quiet time with them. Occasions give way
to experiences then a rut is grooved leading to the righteous Water of
Life. We so much want them to come to
the well and drink. With His Spirit, we
collaborate foreseeing future events to guide them on the way.
Graduation day? What will that look like? Well, it never comes. Successive learnings as hurdles are mastered
then the dash is run in record time.
Wisdom is gathered as fruit on the ground. In a family basket, we share the produce and
dine together. But, where to look? Elders spy the good ground and know where
picking is ripe in season.
We cooperate with God. We send them forth in what we have already
learned. It is His way.
