Downward Trend

Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Exodus 16:35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Help!  I need help.  Throw me the life preserver.  Hang on to the line.  The seas are rough and tumultuous in this time of trouble.  I grab the ring clawing my soddened frame just over the buoyant savior.  With both hands clenched, you retrieve my weighted mass over the waves.  Closer to the ship of deliverance, an arm extended guarantees my final repose away from this state of exhaustion.

Something good is upstairs.  Aid is just beyond the clouds.  Decent knows no ends as the King steps down upon such a lowly footstool.  He has come.  As manna from Heaven even sending His angels to assist our endeavors.  Benevolence comes from above as water pouring down a fall.  Jesus the floodgate opened to send God’s spirit down the spillway to Man.

Who says God does not care?  That He stands aloof.  The watchmaker winding up creation with the spring of time then watching as through a window.  This is not the God I know.  So involved is He in His creation, that even the explosion of matter repulsed of itself would end if not for Him.  For it is written:

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

He holds all things together.  Want another big bang?  Tell God to leave.  As He has said,

Exodus 34:7b “…visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

To shuck God’s hand is to pull the pin on the grenade.  Having no target, a tensed fist gives way to an unbearable cramping seeking relief in a little relaxing.  Slowly the fingers straighten and wonder comes, “Is it a dud?’  Not seeing the inner workings, the firing pin falls for He says,

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

God cascades His love for us.  In rainbows, He secures our sanities not freeking us in terror.  For He has said:

Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

God bows down.  He stoops for our good.  So concerned is He for our well-being, He gets His hands dirty.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  He offers.  He knows our condition.  Our God’s concern is known as His reaching arm pulls up ones in His care.  He reels in the line.  Being here, He knows our pain and unleashes His spirit  again.  He persuades us to put the pin back in.  Gently undoing what has been done.  Only God can redeem time.  This help comes from the heavenlies.  So be encouraged.  He bends down harkening to our cries.  A downward trend He has known from the beginning.
