Honey, Wife, Sister, Woman, Property
Honey, Wife, Sister, Woman, Property
Genesis 14:14 “And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he
armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen,
and pursued them unto Dan.
15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants,
by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left
hand of Damascus.
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again
his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.”
She wears a lot of hats. She is many things to many different
people. These five things she remains to
me.
Pillow talk and kind expressions of the
day converses her in Honey, Honey Bunches, Hon, etc. Wife she understands in subjection. What is her proper place in respect to
me? She should know it is at my right
hand. “Yes, Sir” earns this spot as I
take the lead. Sister she understands
for we inherit a kingdom jointly. Woman
is the name given as my helper. Taken
from my side, she surely is part of me and I desire not to be alone. Property?
Well, this is a bigger one to swallow.
Straight out of the Middle East? Expecting the camel cavalcade to walk by as
women in full bed sheets stare out of eye slits? No.
Property. The term resounds.
Abraham heard the call. Five kings made off with goods and
personages. He mounted pursuit and
risked all. He brought it back. Listen to the terminology. “his goods, and the women also, and
the people.” These comprised the entire
package.
When thinking of women as property, open
your mind. Property is regarded as an
asset worthy of protection. Abraham was
willing to lay down his life for another’s property. Also, property requires maintenance and
careful upkeep each day. Any trespass must
be addressed and violently upended if necessary. Is there ownership? Surely, take a look at her left-handed finger. She comes under my wing. I am responsible in church and civil courts
for my keep of her.
Honey, Wife, Sister, Woman, Property only
describe my relationship to my best friend.
If I were only to sweet talk her as Honey but never attend her needs,
would I be a responsible steward? God
has given me a great responsibility.
These terms give depth to my understanding.
