Light As A Feather

Light As A Feather

This morning I saw a white feather slowly descending and rest.  A slight breeze blew it away.  We have a God who decides to forget.  Sin is such a little thing.  His Son’s sacrifice was that strong.

Does the establishment let us understand?  Sin consciousness is a great rallying point.  It keeps us groveling at the foot of the cross.  Never moving on, we enter our gatherings convinced we need another washing to be clean.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Ever heard that one quoted out of context?  How about this one:

Jerimiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Cripples!  Who has told you to come into the house of God in wheelchairs?

     What of this verse?

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Whoa!  Isn’t the Holy Spirit’s first job to convict?  Oh, Peter must have repented on knees with fire on his head before his speech.  The word doesn’t record…

The Spirit fell on Cornelius and his household.  They lit up immediately and praised God.  What about sackcloth and ashes?  Isn’t our God to be glorified by our sorrow?

Today my local church partakes in communion.  It is a special time to determine what His sacrifice means to us individually.  He meets us at that point, but He does not want us to stay there.

Hebrews 6:1 “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.

“Look in My eyes child.  Look up.”

Sin rehearsal lowers our head in shame.  Our Brother has lifted that burden off us.  We can confidently walk with the Father holding His hand.  Will He remind us, with every step, that we miserably need Him?  Does He hold a bloody cross before us?

Your understanding of this determines your boldness.  The enemy would hold you to past failures.  The Preacher says for everything there is a time.  There are times to get your business straight with God.  As you mature, these moments become rare.

I’ve been married to my wife for thirty-four years.  I do less things that tick her off now.  Growing sensitivity pulls my foot away before I trip her.  Thus, I do not say sorry as much as I used to.  Same with God.  He wants me to look up and explore the day with Him.  If I do slip, He lifts me up then off we go again.

Sin as a feather does not weigh down the heart of God.
